Altrincham Preview

By Zach Thomas

Saturday sees the Lambs return home, after two consecutive away wins, to take on Altrincham at 3pm.

An away win at AFC Fylde on Tuesday night meant that Tamworth had won their last three games in a row, the first time in the National League since October 2011.

Dan Creaney’s stoppage time winner caused limbs amongst the players and the supporters, as he headed home in the 96th minute from a Tom Tonks throw-in.

Tonks has had an incredible week, as not only did he score a stoppage time winner last Saturday against Braintree Town, he also managed to gain his 50th appearance for the club.

The win against Fylde saw Andy Peaks’ side climb up to 16th place in the table, only one point behind Saturday's visitors, Altrincham.

The Robins are also on a three-game unbeaten streak, having won their game on Tuesday 2-1 at home to Dagenham & Redbridge.

Regan Linney continued his scoring run, as he grabbed his fourth goal of the season. The number nine is proving to be a threat for Phil Parkinson’s side, so the Tamworth defence will need to be on top form once again to stop the Englishman from scoring.

The last time these two sides met was in the Conference North in 2017, where the Lambs, managed by Andy Morrell, beat the Robins 2-1 at the Comparethebuild Community Stadium.

We look forward to returning home, and hope to see so many of you coming down to support the team and hopefully we can make it four wins on the bounce.
