Tamworth vs Maidenhead United
By Zach Thomas
This Saturday, the Lambs return to the compare the Build Community Stadium after two successive away games, as Andy Peaks’ side take on Maidenhead United at 3pm.
Tamworth will be hoping to turn around their form after back-to-back defeats against Barnet and most recently, Eastleigh.
The Lambs were very unfortunate not to grab a point or more against the Spitfires last weekend. They had many chances throughout the 90 to try and level the game, but Eastleigh managed to hang on and ran out 1-0 winners.
Andy Peaks, who spoke with Lambs Media after the match, said “With a bit more luck and being a bit more clinical in front of goal, it could’ve been a decent away performance with a good result, but unfortunately we didn’t take our chances.”
The defeat leaves Tamworth in 23rd position on five points, with a game in hand on most teams in and around the relegation zone.
This Saturday’s visitors, Maidenhead United, are also on five points after a tough start to the season. The Magpies have only won once out of their first eight fixtures, whilst also managing to pick up two draws.
Alan Devonshire’s side lost 3-1 on Tuesday night to Rochdale, who currently sit second in the table. In-form Kairo Mitchell, grabbed two of Rochdale’s goals, as they were enough to hand Maidenhead their fifth defeat of the season.
English Forward, Tristan Abrahams will be hoping to add to his three goals already this season. He has already managed to match last season’s tally in 6 games. The 25-year-old only joined Maidenhead at the start of the year, after impressing at Welling United, scoring seven in 18 games for the club.
We look forward to seeing you support the Lambs back at home this Saturday, and hopefully we can gain three points to gain some momentum for the season.
