Eastleigh vs Tamworth Preview

By Zach Thomas

Tamworth will be looking to improve this weekend drastically, as they are on the road again, this time travelling down to the south coast to take on Eastleigh on Saturday at 3pm.

Andy Peaks will be hoping for a much better performance as his side was beaten by seven goals to nil by Barnet, their heaviest defeat in 34 years.

It was the Lambs’ third loss of the season, moving them down to 21st place and in the relegation zone for the first time.

Eastleigh are currently second in the table, after a good start to this campaign. The Spitfires have won four out of their games, however they suffered their first defeat last Saturday to top of the table Gateshead, losing 2-1 despite Gateshead having a man sent off.

Eastleigh are current managed by former goalkeeper, Kelvin Davis, who made over 600 appearances in English football for clubs such as, Southampton, Luton Town and Ipswich Town. His squad includes last season’s National League top scorer, Paul McCallum who netted 35 times. This season McCallum already has four goals in five appearances this season, meaning the Lambs will have to put up a solid defensive display to keep the English striker quiet.

We look forward to seeing you travel down to Eastleigh to support the Lambs from the stands and hope Andy Peaks’ side can improve on last weeks performance and climb up the table.
