York City vs Tamworth Preview
By Zach Thomas
The Lambs will travel to North Yorkshire this Saturday, as we kick off our away campaign for this season, taking on York City at the York Community Stadium.
The Minstermen, founded in 1922, will be looking to win their first game of the season, as they drew one all in their opening fixture at Roots Hall against Southend United. Lenell John-Lewis came off the bench for York to grab the equaliser, as his header hit the back of the net in the 81 st minute. That squad also featured Tyrese Sinclair, the son of former Chelsea and Leicester City defender Frank Sinclair. York are currently managed by ex-Brighton and Hove Albion centre defender Adam Hinshelwood, who made exactly 100 appearances for the Seagulls between 2002 and 2009. His son, Jack, is at present on the books at Brighton.
Likewise, Andy Peaks’ side will be looking to gain their first three points of the season, due to conceding a 91 st minute equaliser to recently relegated Sutton United at the weekend. Nathan Tshikuna grabbed Tamworth’s first goal in the National League since 2014, brilliantly placing the ball into the bottom right corner, after picking the ball up in the middle of the pitch due to a poor clearance from a Sutton defender. We look forward to travelling to Yorkshire this Saturday and hope to see as many of you as possible supporting the Lambs.
