Jellis Returns To The Lamb
Tamworth vs Walsall, Pre-Season Friendly Preview
Saturday 20 July, KO 3pm
Jamie Jellis will return to his former club as we host League Two side Walsall this Saturday at 3pm.
The midfielder played an early vital role in last seasons title-winning side before moving to The Saddlers in January. An injury kept Jellis out until April for him to make his first appearance for the West Midlands club, coming on as a substitute in a 3-1 home defeat to Notts County. He has already scored in Walsall’s pre-season campaign, as they comfortably beat Alvechurch 3-0 away from home last Saturday and playing Aston Villa with a 3-0 defeat on Wednesday evening. New signing Charlie Lakin was also on the scoresheet, having moved on a free from League One side Burton Albion earlier this summer.
This will be Tamworth’s toughest task yet as Andy Peaks’ side will be going into the fixture having played three pre-season friendlies already, most recently beating Harborough Town on Tuesday night by two goals to nil. Miracle Okafor grabbed his second goal of pre-season and is hoping to make a huge impact for The Lambs this season. The 23-year-old has become quite the scoring sensation over the past couple of years bagging 21 for Halesowen last season in the Southern League Premier Division Central.
