Haydn Hollis has been a professional footballer for most of his life, but he joins the Lambs as he moves into the part time game to pursue the next stage of his career. “I am working as a coach at Chesterfield with their U18 and U23 set up, but it is great to be here at Tamworth. Everyone wants to be part of a successful club and what the Manager and the staff have achieved here at Tamworth is remarkable.”
“I was at Notts County for 7 years and loved my time there. I still speak to people there and have made friends for life. The Manager left County and took me to Forest Green Rovers with him. It was probably a little too far from home, so I linked up with Chesterfield on loan and then joined them on a full time basis and remained there for 4 seasons. It is a club that I love and now being there in a full time coaching role, it is a perfect combination to be able to play at Tamworth. After leaving Chesterfield I went to Ebbsfleet where we won the National League South and I finished last season at Dorking Wanderers. It is a great set up at Dorking and I am certain they will bounce back very quickly. I have had a great time at all the clubs I have played at and I am sure it will be no different here at Tamworth.”
So how is Haydn finding life at Tamworth? “The players and the management have been brilliant with me. It is very new to me playing part time football, but I can’t wait to get going. I don't really set targets, but for Tamworth to stay in this league will be a massive achievement and will be marked as success. We probably have one of the smallest budgets in the league and are one of perhaps just 2 part time teams, but the manager has proved what he can do and I don't see why we can’t surprise a lot of people.”
