New U23/Reserve Coaching Team Appointed

Tamworth FC have moved to appoint a new U23s/Reserve Team coaching team under the umbrella of the first team management. With Kevin Killingworth moving on from his role as Academy Development Manager, the club have taken the opportunity to restructure the links between the U18s Floodlit Team, Scholars, U23s and the First team, with Tim Dudding overseeing all the activities in the Academy network in his new role.

All at Tamworth FC want to thank Kev for all the hard work he has put in at the club over the past few seasons and he has been instrumental in establishing our Academy Development/Reserves side which we are very grateful for.

We are pleased to announce that Morgan-James Hallett(MJ) will join the club as U23’s Head Coach as well as Lead Coach/Tutor in a full-time capacity on the Scholarship programme. Recently, MJ has worked with Cheltenham Town FC through the TP/YDP Phases of the academy and the women’s first team. Currently, he is the Sports Academy Manager and Teacher of Sport at Worcester Sixth Form College teaching across multiple sports courses and leading the academy sports programme. This season, he successfully led their Football Academy Programme to promotion and a league title in the regional AOC Leagues. MJ brings a wealth of teaching and coaching experience to the role.

“I am really excited to be joining the club at such an exciting time as the Academy is rebranded. To work with talented players that we can develop to move into the first team is a really exciting project. I am eager to help develop the relationship between the academy, scholarship, U23’s through to first team. I have worked with Tim before at Worcester University and I am looking forward to working with him again at this exciting time for the football club.”

Joining Morgan with the U23s team will be assistant coaches Jack Ball. Jack is already working at the Academy and has coached with the junior sides as well as the U18s floodlit side that reached a cup final last season.

The open trials for the U23s/Reserve team will take place on Saturday 29th June and already there has been a great response from players that want to be considered. The key focus for the rebranded set up is the pathway that will run right through from the Academy sides to the U18s, Scholars, and U23s to the First Team, which will have complete oversight from the First team Management.
