UPDATE FROM THE BOSS

It’s fair to say that life has been very busy for Andy Peaks and the management team as they have been planning, negotiating and getting deals over the line for the new season.

“Yes it has been busy but I am delighted with the way the squad is shaping up. To get as many as we have done over the line so soon is very pleasing. By the end of this week our squad will be 16 strong, but I am still looking to bring in another 8 players to take us up to 24. WIth an increased bench size next season, we will need a minimum of 18 on a match day and then we need room for suspensions and injuries, so to have 6 extra players on top of the 18 will be important.”

“We have been able to get a good core of the squad back for next season and with the 4 new players coming in I think we are looking strong. I am still negotiating with some of the current squad and new players for next season, however, 4 who are leaving are Brad Gascoigne, Callum Reilly, Lindon Meikle and Alex Jones. All of them have been great around the club, but injuries and the good form of others meant that their time on the pitch was limited. I want to wish them the very best in the next stages of their footballing careers and hope we see them down the club at some stage next season. They are all good people and it will be good to see them.”

For the record ….

  • Alex Jones played 49 games scoring 8 goals
  • Lindon Meikle played 31 games
  • Brad Gascoigne played 9 games
  • Callum Reilly played 14 games

Thanks to all 4 for their contribution to Tamworth FC.

We have now completed planning for our pre-season programme of fixtures. We have 2 more home games to announce once agreed with the opposition, including another EFL League 2 side!
