Jamie Jellis Signs for Walsall FC
Supporters will be aware that a number of league clubs have expressed an interest in our exciting midfielder Jamie Jellis. Today (Thursday 25 Jan) the club has accepted an undisclosed offer from League 2 Walsall FC and Jamie has agreed terms to move to the Football League outfit to fulfil his ambition of playing full time league football.
Obviously, we are sad to be losing Jamie, but we are delighted for him as he takes up this exciting opportunity. Jamie quickly became a fans favourite with his energy, determination and commitment and supporters will always remember his goal at Redditch United that clinched the title for us on the final day of last season. He has been one of the standout players in the Vanarama National League North this season.
Although we wanted to keep Jamie at Tamworth, we could not stand in the way of this opportunity for him, and he leaves with our sincere best wishes. Jamie will be welcome back at the club any time and hopefully we will see him at the Lamb in the ‘shed’ and clubhouse when Walsall do not have a game.
Speaking about the move Manager Andy Peaks said, “Jamie has had a massive impact on this football club, and he fully deserves his move to showcase his talent in the Football League. He is a great lad who always plays with a smile on his face, and I am certain he will be a great success as we all know what Jamie is capable of. It is a great credit to the club and coaching team that we are able to develop the talents of our players. Jamie leaves with my blessing and will always be welcome back at the Lamb.
Jamie singed on an initial loan period from Kings Langley towards the end of 2022 before returning on loan for the final stages of our Championship winning season. He signed permanently for the club at the start of the current season. playing 50 games for the club and scoring 5 goals.
