Tamworth v Boston United, Tuesday 23 January, KO 7.45
Vanarama National League North
Match Day Sponsors - Pickering Solicitors
We return to the Compare the Build Community Stadium on Tuesday evening when Boston United are the visitors. The Lincolnshire club currently occupy 11th place in the table with 41 points from 28 games.
Our visit to the Jakeman’s Stadium back in August saw us return with all 3 points in a 2 - 0 win. The last time the Pilgrims visited the Lamb was for an FA Trophy game in November ‘22 which Tamworth won following a penalty shoot out. In terms of a league fixture, then we have to go back to Tuesday 15 August 2017, which the Lambs won 2 -1 with goals from Reece Styche and Darryl Knights.
Manager Andy Peaks is under no illusion that Boston will be tough opposition “Ian Culverhouse and Paul Bastock have built a good team at Boston and are currently on a good run of form, sitting 11th in the league. I know that we are in for a tough game on Tuesday. They have some good players that will cause us problems, so it is important that we are at our best if we are to get anything from the game. We hope that Ben Milnes and Ben Acquaye will have recovered, having had the benefit of extra rest time over the weekend.”
