Tamworth v Southport, Saturday 16 December, KO 3.00pm
Vanarama National League North
We are back at the Compare the Build Community Stadium on Saturday as we welcome Southport.
We expect another large crowd at the game as we look to strengthen our position in the top two of the table.
Manager Andy Peaks was disappointed not to get a result at Chester last time out after he believed the lambs had the better of the chances and possession.”Looking at the game we will play at lot worse and win. We had some great chances - Tom Tonks hit the post and Kyle Finn went very close too. Obviously, the result is very important, but if you don’t get the win, you look at the performance and it was good if I am honest. The result will not define our season, but it is important to get back to winning ways on Saturday.
The story of the last few months has been our lengthy injury list but at long last things are starting to look a lot better “It is great to see the injury list getting smaller and smaller. All of those who have been out injured are very close to returning. Ben Milnes and Alex Jones were back available last week and we should have more bodies available for the Southport game. As a result, Max Brogan returned to Solihull last week and Michael Gyasi has gone back to Boston. It provides me with some selection headaches, but this is what I want. We have a busy period coming up over Christmas and January and we will need all of the players to play their part.”
