FA Trophy Action at Billericay Town

Thu 16 Nov 2023 - 11:13AM

Billericay Town v Tamworth, Saturday 18 November. KO 3.00pm

Isuzu FA Trophy Round 2

We head off to Billericay Town on Saturday in our first tie in this season’s Isuzu FA Trophy. We enter at the Second Round stage and travel to a ground we have played at before but not the opposition! Back in 2001 and 2002 we played Chelmsford City there who were ground sharing at the time.

Billericay Town play in the Isthmian Premier League, one level below the Lambs and currently sit in 4th place. Andy Peaks has been to see them twice and knows that they will prove to be a tough side at their own ground which has a 3G surface.

For Tamworth the ever growing injury list will be an issue for team selection, but with some of the players nearing a return to action, training on Thursday evening will be a good test to see who will be available. Brad Gascoigne was missing on Tuesday due to a chest infection and Alex Jones suffered a hamstring injury last Saturday.
