Buxton FC v Tamworth FC. Tuesday 31 October. KO 7.45
Vanrama National league North
We are back on the road on Tuesday following the comforts of home. This time it is the rearranged visit to Buxton. Tamworth will go into the game full of confidence after increasing our unbeaten run to double figures with the 2 - 0 win over Scarborough Athletic on Saturday.
Again the game will come too soon for Dan Creaney and Callum Cockerill-Mollett. The game will mark a return for Matt Curley, Lindon Meikle and Ben Milnes to their former club.
Buxton sit in 11th place with 20 points from 14 games played following their 2 - 2 draw at home to Rushall Olympic on Saturday. Former Lamb Eoin Mckeown featured on the bench for the Bucks in this game.
You have to look back over 40 years to find the last time Buxton and Tamworth were in competitive action. It came in the days when Tamworth struggled in the Northern Premier League and in 8 games played, 6 were won by Buxton with 2 games drawn. Interestingly, this was the period that inspired John Donkey Bayliss to take over the Club with crowds just breaking the 100 mark for home games. What a contrast Saturday’s game was with 1301 in the ground!
We hope as many as possible will be able to travel to the game and the Supporters Club have arranged a coach with the price of £10 for everyone, which is great value.
