Tamworth v Scarborough Athletic, Saturday 28 Oct, KO 3.00pm
Vanarama National League North
We welcome Scarborough Athletic to the Lamb on Saturday for our next Vanarama National League North fixture.
The Seadogs are a shining example of a fan owned club who have brought their club back to life after the demise of Scarborough FC back in 2007. They achieved promotion back to the National League North at the start of last season having started life in the North East Counties League Division 1.
Whenever Tamworth fans talk of games between Tamworth and Scarborough, memories come flooding back to the FA Cup 4Q Round tie in October 1999 when we travelled to the McCain Stadium as complete underdogs, yet returned on the back of a 1 - 0 win courtesy of a David Foy wonder goal. However, Scarborough FC and the Lambs have locked horns on 9 occasions between 1970 and 2006 with Tamworth winning 3 games, 4 being drawn and 2 losses. This is the first time that Tamworth will have faced Scarborough Athletic in their new incarnation.
The game will come too soon for Dan Creaney (Hamstring) and Callum Cockerill-Mollett who had to leave the field on Tuesday. His injury is not as bad as first feared with no break.
