Gloucester City Head for the Lamb as we Remember the life of John Bayliss

Sun 22 Oct 2023 - 4:16PM

Tamworth v Gloucester City, Tuesday 24 October (7.45)

The Vanarama National league North

Fresh from our last gasp win over Blyth Spartans on Saturday, Tamworth return to the Compare the Build Community stadium for the first time since the 4 - 0 win over Darlington on 7 October. Jamie Jellis was in the right place to head home the winner for the Lambs at Blyth on Saturday, to ensure Tamworth held on to top spot going into Tuesday night’s game.

Our visitors arrive on the back of a win too - a 3 - 0 success over visitors Alfreton Town and will be full of confidence as they visit the Lamb.

Speaking after the game on Saturday Manager Andy Peaks said; “it was a great result which kept us in pole position at the top of the table. You can’t beat a last minute winner, especially after the distance we had travelled and it was a great 3 points on the road again.”

The game on Tuesday will be broadcast live on National league TV with commentary available for the first time from our Lambs Media team. You can subscribe to a package here The game will also be available to listen to free of charge on our Lambs Media Mixlr channel.

The game will probably come too soon for Dan Creaney who is still suffering from a hamstring injury, otherwise we will have a full squad to select from.

Tickets for the game can be purchased from our ticket site or from the ticket office after 6.30pm on the night of the game. Please see our ticketing site for full details and the regulations for purchasing tickets here

The game on Tuesday will be marked with a special remembrance of the life of John ‘Donkey’ Bayliss, one of the true greats in the history of Tamworth Football Club, John sadly died recently. His family will be present and we will celebrate his life with a one minute applause before kick off.

Please ensure you comply with the Supporters Code of Conduct when attending any Tamworth game. This can be accessed here
