Curzon Ashton v Tamworth. Saturday 14 October. 3.00pm
Emirates FA Cup 4Q Round
Tamworth head to Curzon Ashton on Saturday knowing that a win will put us in the First Round of the Emirates FA Cup for the first time since 2013 when we played Cheltenham Town at the Lamb. Our hosts play in the same league as us and we have already travelled to the Tameside Stadium, coming back with all 3 points. However, the Nash are in good form and sit in 5th place, just 4 points behind the Lambs who head the table.
We anticipate a good travelling support on Saturday and hope as many people as possible can join us to back the lads. It will be a special day for Jas Singh who is scheduled to make his 200th appearance for the club. Also hitting a landmark will be Ty Deacon who will play his 50th game in a Tamworth shirt.
Speaking about the tie Manager Andy Peaks said. “Saturday will be the toughest test we will have had this season. They were good when we played them a few weeks ago. Jas made a couple of good saves, and we took our chance well. However, I think they have improved since then and sit just below us in the league. It is our biggest game of the season so far because the prize is getting through to the First Round of the FA Cup and putting the club on the map. The club has not been there for 10 years and it will be the first time for me as a manager too. We will go there and put on a show because we know they will want to beat us.”
