Farsley Celtic v Tamworth. Saturday 26 August, KO 3.00pm

Vanrama National league North

After a break from match action in midweek, Tamworth travel to Leeds based Farsley Celtic on Saturday looking to get back to winning ways.

Despite the loss at home to Alfreton Town last time out Manager Andy Peaks saw enough to suggest that his side is moving in the right direction, “We knew they would pose a physical threat, but I think we more than matched them despite the referee offering very little protection to our players. I thought that Callum was very unlucky with his 2 yellow cards resulting in us having to play with 10 men. Despite this I always felt we were in the ascendency, and I don’t think you could tell that we were playing with a man down, as it was Alfreton who were playing for time.”

“We have now played a number of teams who are in the top positions, and I believe we have given a good account of ourselves. There are fine margins in the games and if you get the luck of the bounce, you are always in with a chance of getting something – which we did at Spennymoor, however, nothing seemed to go for us against Alfreton!”

Andy will be without Callum Cockerill-Mollett who serves a one game ban for his 2 yellow cards last Saturday. However, Callum Reilly is now back involved with the squad and Brad Gascoigne returns from his suspension. Dan Creaney should be available after having to go off at half time last Saturday. One player who is out for the long term is Ben Acquaye. “Yes, we knew it was likely that he was going to miss a stretch of games when he came to us due to a historic FA betting charge. We are supporting him during this period, and he is really looking forward to getting back in the team once the suspension is over. He is very much enjoying himself here and the fans have taken to him. He is a quality player who we will miss.“ Ben’s suspension ends on 15 November.
