Spennymoor Town v Tamworth. Sat 12 August

Vanarama National League North

Tamworth head to Spennymoor Town on Saturday (KO 3.00pm) hoping to build on the positives from the game against Scunthorpe United last weekend. Manager Andy Peaks will have Callum Cockerill-Mollett and Jamie Willetts back in contention for selection after them not being available last week. However, Brad Gascoigne will have to sit out of the game following his red card on Saturday.

Spennymoor kicked off their season with a 3 - 0 win away at Banbury United and will be in a confident mood going into the game against the Lambs.

The last time Tamworth headed north to Spennymoor was in the 2017/18 season. The game, played in January, resulted in a 1 - 0 win for the home side in front of a crowd of 832.

Speaking ahead of the game Manager Adny Peaks said,"It won’t be easy at Spennymoor. They were there fighting to be in the play offs last season and have now established themselves in this league. We have had them watched and they got off to a great start with a 3 – 0 win at Banbury on Saturday. But we know our strengths too and looking at how we played on Saturday, if we can take the positives into the game at Spennymoor then we are in with a chance of getting our first points of the season. We will have Callum Cockerill-Mollet and Jamie Willets available for Saturday, but unfortunately Brad Gascoigne will be out because of his red card. Kai Williams and Callum Reilly may be back next week while Luke Fairlamb is still a couple of weeks away. “
