Tamworth’s opponents for the 2023-24 season have now been confirmed following the publication of steps 1 – 4 by the National Leagues System today.
As the Lambs have their place in the National league North verified, we will be joined from teams as far as Blyth Spartans in the North and Bishop’s Stortford in the South. For Stortford, that is a massive journey of 269 miles one way! The other teams new to the National League North will be Rushall Olympic, Scunthorpe United, South Shields and Warrington Town. It will be interesting to see if Bishop’s Stortford appeal because Hemel Hempstead, who are currently in the National League South, would indeed have less miles to travel over the season if they swapped places with Bishop’s Stortford. Watch this space! (edit... they have appealed)
So, what of the league we have left behind. It will look considerably different with no less than 8 new clubs joining the Southern League Premier Central – AFC Sudbury, AFC Telford United, Berkhamsted, Halesowen Town, Kettering Town, Leamington, Long Eaton United and Stamford. Moving across to the Northern Premier League are Ilkeston Town and Basford United.
Once we have details of when the fixtures will be released we will let supporters know.
