Following the Nuneaton Borough game in February that was abandoned, Tamworth FC were charged with the following
‘that Tamworth FC failed to ensure that spectators and/or its supporters (and anyone purporting to be its supporters or followers) conduct themselves in an orderly fashion whilst attending the Match and do not use words or otherwise behave in a way which is improper, offensive, violent, threatening, abusive, indecent, insulting or provocative with either express or implied reference to gender and/or sexuality and/or race and/or refrain from throwing missiles or other potentially harmful or dangerous objects.’
As a consequence, both clubs were found guilty and we were notified yesterday that we have been fined £2,500 which does have a major financial impact on the club moving forward.
The Directors of Tamworth FC are currently considering whether to lodge an appeal on the amount of fine issued.
However, as a club we remind supporters that we do not condone any form of behaviour contained in the charges and will be putting into place an action plan requested by the FA as part of our punishment regarding crowd behaviour and control. This action plan will be available on our website and social media channels.
Please remember the following activities are illegal, dangerous, have serious consequences and have no place in football:
Carrying or using smoke bombs or pyro
Invading the pitch or entering the pitch without permission
Throwing missiles anywhere within the ground
Drug use within the football ground
Any form of discriminatory behaviour
Tamworth FC have a zero tolerance policy towards discriminatory, abusive and insulting behaviour. We fully support positive dialogue with Kick it Out and Her Game Too and any supporters demonstrating such behaviour either at the Lamb or away from home will receive a banning order and will be reported to the police. Such abusive behaviour is illegal, offensive and will not tolerated by the Club,
We will be developing a ’Club Supporter Charter’ in discussions with our Supporters Club, academy, junior teams and other community groups in relation to the above which we ask all supporters to accept when following Tamworth home and away. Please remember that this is YOUR family club and plays a major role in the community. Do not let yourself or our community down.
