Tamworth FC news Update

There is no game this weekend for the first team …. and unfortunately the Academy Devlopment game at the Lamb on Saturday has become a victim of the weather and has been postponed.

Andy Peaks reflects on the break in league action .……

“I would much rather be playing, which is why it was important that we got a result at Hitchin. “When you are going well it is good to get back out and keep the momentum going. “But we will be able to assess how the league is panning out as some of the teams pick up on their games in hand. “Coalville lost on Tuesday and Leiston have been dropping points. “In fact, Coalville have some tough away games coming up and if they can drop a few more points, it makes it very exciting going into the final games. “What is important for us is to keep on ticking the games off and getting the 3 points we need. “When we next take to the field, we will still be top of the league and that is why it was important to get the 3 points at Hitchin.

The players will be training twice this week and then be back for 2 more sessions next week before Needham Market come to the Lamb. But what about Andy? “I was at Bromsgrove watching Needham Market on Tuesday evening. “It was a bad start for them conceding 2 quick goals, but they had been held up on the M6 for a couple of hours, so they needed time to adjust. “I will then try and get to watch Royston Town over the next week too as I always like to watch our upcoming opponents to prepare for when we play them.
