Bromsgrove Sporting Visit on Saturday
Thu 23 Feb 2023 - 09:48AM
Pitching In Southern League Premier Central, Saturday 25 Feb
Tamworth v Bromsgrove Sporting, KO 3.00pm
We are hoping for another large crowd on Saturday to support the Lambs in our push for promotion.
This will be a tough game against the Worcestershire outfit who are currently on a good run, having only lost once in their last 6 games. They have, however, just lost their leading scorer, Dan Sweeny, to Macclesfield.
The last time we met Sporting was at the Victoria Ground in the Autumn with Kyle Finn grabbing the all-important winning goal. A glance at the league table will see Bromsgrove sitting in 12th place with 40 points from 29 games played. They are managed by Michael McGrath, who took over from our former managers Tom Baillie and Gary Smith in November.
After the disappointment of Tuesday evening’s events, we trust that the game will go well without any incidents off the pitch and remind all supporters of this very important campaign from the FA. https://bit.ly/3ExN5zl We strongly condemn these behaviours and any supporter contravening these regulations will be reported to the Police.
Manager Andy Peaks speaking on Wednesday evening said “Obviously we are disappointed by the way things turned out and I condemn the violence that we witnessed. “However, the Police and referee were happy with the protocols that were put in place, that it was safe and we were all keen to continue with the game - it was Nuneaton that refused to come back out. “We will now have to see what the authorities say. “With regards to the football played on the evening I was delighted with the performance and there was only going to be one winner. “It was fantastic to see such a large crowd in the ground too, which shows how far this club has come over the past year. “The squad is looking so much stronger now with the new additions and with Ben Milnes and Alex Collard both coming back to fitness.
Tickets for the game are available here or from the ticket office on the day of the game from 1.30 onwards.
