Andy Peaks Gives his Thoughts Ahead of FA Trophy Tie

Andy is really pleased with the excellent backing the team is receiving. “The crowd was great at Coalville and the backing they gave the players means a lot. “It shows how far we have come as a club and I understand that Hungerford have already sold a lot of tickets to Tamworth supporters for the game on Saturday.” The one worry that Andy has about Saturday is the weather. “We have had a lot of rain this week and I hope that it does not cause problems for the game on Saturday as that would be a shame for the fans who have made plans to go.”

Speaking about the FA Trophy game on Saturday Andy knows it will be tough but is determined to do well. “I have said before It is a competition that I want to do as well as we can in. “It is important for the club as it provides some revenue and good publicity. “It will be difficult as they will go into the game full of confidence after beating Dover last weekend. “They are from a higher league but it will be a good yardstick for us. “We have already beat two National League North sides so we have nothing to fear. “We have had them watched and we will prepare thoroughly.”

On the player front Matt Curley will miss the game after his 2 yellow cards at Coalville last week, “Yes Matt will be missing for 1 game but we have Lucas back from his loan spell at Mickleover and Ben Hart who will be competing for the right back slot. “Alex Bradley trained on Tuesday so he should be available for selection. “Ben Bailey will not be involved as he is cup tied and Alex Jones is still recovering from the injury he sustained at Ilkeston."

The Supporters Club are taking 2 coaches to the game and if you are travelling by car please see the separate news article which gives details of tickets, parking and match information here
