Coalville Town v Tamworth
Tamworth head into another crucial league game on Saturday as we make the short journey (19 miles) to Coalville Town (KO 3.00pm). This one will definitely go under the heading of a ‘6 pointer’ with the Ravens in good form and can close the gap on Tamworth to just one point by winning their 4 games in hand. They are having a fine season in the league and the two major cups - an excellent win at Notts County in the FA Cup saw them reach the first round, and then in the last round of the FA Trophy they beat Chesterfield to progress to the 4th Round for the first time in their history.
The Lambs will be looking for revenge for the home defeat suffered back in August, when despite playing well, the 4 - 1 scoreline in favour of Coalville did not really reflect our performance on the day.
We are expecting a good sized crowd to travel to the Mander Cruickshank Solicitors Stadium on Saturday, especially after the bumper crowd of over 1000 at the Lamb earlier this week that witnessed the excellent 3 - 0 win over Alvechurch to maintain our position at the top of the table.
Speaking about the Coleville game Andy Peaks said, “We go into this game full of confidence, but we must be at our best to get something from it. “Coalville are a good outfit and provide an attacking threat. “I have said before that any team that finishes above Coalville has a good chance of going up. “I was disappointed with the result at our place, I felt that we gave away some poor goals at the wrong times, but our performance was good.”
Tamworth go into the game on the back of a 9 games unbeaten run, including 3 straight league wins without conceding a goal.
