On Boxing Day table topping Tamworth make the journey down the M42/M40 to play Stratford Town (KO 3.00pm) in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central. Fixtures against the Bards were a regular feature of the calendar during the 1960’s, but apart from a Birmingham Senior Cup game in 2008, our paths have only crossed again in more recent years when we joined the Southern League Premier Central. The first game between the two sides was also a Christmas fixture on 27 December 1960 when Stratford visited the Lamb for a West Midlands League fixture, which was drawn 2 - 2.

Since we joined Stratford in the Southern League Premier Central it is the Bards who have had the upper hand. They won both games in the 2018/19 season and also last season too, while the Lambs won the 2 games played in the abandoned 2019/20 season.

Stratford are managed by former Lamb’s player Gavin Hurren, who played for Tamworth between 2009 - 10. They also have former players Chris Lait, Ahmed Obeng, Martin Riley and Mikey Taylor in their ranks. Currently the Bards occupy the 4th relegation spot with 19 points from 20 games.
