20221016 - We are off to Hednesford Town on Tuesday

Tuesday 18 Oct, Pitching in Southern League Premier Central

Hednesford Town v Tamworth, KO 7.45

The Lambs travel to Hednesford Town on Tuesday evening (KO 7.45) for our next Pitching-In Southern League Premier Central fixture. We will be looking to extend our excellent winning streak to 7 games and also protect an unbeaten away league run that goes back over 9 months (our last league away defeat was on 5 Feb at Stourbridge).

Hednesford is a distance of just 18 miles up the A5 and we hope as many Lambs fans can travel to back the lads to remain top of the league.

The Lambs and the Pitmen have been involved in some memorable tussles over the years. The game at Hednesford last season on Easter Monday will be remembered for 2 sensational long distance goals from Mussa and Tahra, while Howkins grabbed a last minute winner.

Andy Peaks knows that it will be a difficult game for the Lambs, “They have a new manager, in Steve Burr, who is highly respected, and their performances since he came in have improved. “We will prepare well and I took the opportunity to watch them play on Saturday.”

"I thought we were really good at Bromsgrove, "We had a lot of the ball and played it around well. "I was delighted for Ben Hart who came in for Bully (Liam Dolman) and had an excellent game, as did Alex Bradley who had his best game in a Tamworth shirt. "Infact Alex got a bad couple of knocks which he sent me pictures of on Wednesday and to be honest I don't know how he completed the game! "Bully has been feeling sore for a few games so I thought it best not to risk him. "We played much better than we did at Rushden even though we scored 4 goals. "It didn't seem to go for us in the final 3rd of the pitch, but I was really pleased for Kyle (Finn) who scored a cracking goal. "His work rate and running in games is really high. "We created lots of chances but Jas has hardly had a save to make, apart from a couple of chances they fluffed."
