Tamworth v Kings Langley Kick Off 3.00pm
We are back in league action on Saturday at the CR MOT Centre Community Stadium at the Lamb with the visit of 5th placed Kings Langley.
Despite being in the same league as Kings Langley for 2 seasons (19/20 and 20/21), this is only the second time the clubs have played each other! This is because the pandemic curtailed both seasons with 3 of our scheduled games not played. The one game where we did meet each other ended up with a 2 - 0 Lambs victory on 16 Nov 2019. A crowd of 711 witnessed goals from Waite and Yafai to maintain Tamworth’s top spot in the league.
Kings Langley have moved between the Southern and Central Divisions of the Southern League a couple of times in recent years, and in this campaign they have got off to a good start. They currently sit in 5th place, just 2 points behind the Lambs so we expect a close game this afternoon.
Manager Andy Peaks said earlier this week “They have performed well in the league so far and sit just three places behind us. “I have had them watched and know they are a good team, so we will have to be at our best to get a result on Saturday afternoon. “We know it will be a tough game and we need to be on the front foot from the off. ”In preparation for the game, we held a behind closed doors friendly on Tuesday against Tim’s College U23 side to help those on the edge of the team get some minutes under their belts.”
