20220827 - Lambs Face Alvechurch on Bank Holiday Monday

Alvechurch v Tamworth. Monday 29 August, KO 3.00pm

Pitching In Southern League Premier Central

The Lambs may have lost their first game since February, but they are certainly not downhearted after the loss at home to Coalville Town, who despite hitting 4 goals, the win did flatter them as the Tamworth performance did not warrant the scoreline suffered. Last week they were clinical, but this week not so, as a number of chances, particularly in the first half went begging, while Coalville took theirs.

Manager Andy Peaks was obviously disappointed with the result, but believes his team have started the season well as they sit in the final play off spot, and they will go again on Monday determined to make amends as we travel down the M42 to face Alvechurch. You can listen to Andy's assessment of the game here on Spotify and see the photos of the action here

The ‘Church’ have won 2, drawn 1 and lost 2 of their games so far and sit in 10th place with 7 points. On Saturday Thomas Edge scored a 92nd minute equaliser at Barwell to claim a point. One familiar face in the Alvechurch line up will be Jack Concannon who joined the club during the summer.
