Tamworth v Coalville Town, Saturday 27 Aug, KO 3.00pm
Pitching In Southern League Premier Central
It may still be an early stage in the season, but Tamworth are 4 games into what Andy Peaks described as a difficult start to the campaign. “We have to play 3 of last season’s play off teams, two teams promoted as champions and Stourbridge, which is always a difficult place to go.”
The Bank Holiday period brings an end to that mini run with fixtures against Coalville Town and Alvechurch - both made the playoffs last season with Coalville, who we play at home on Saturday, setting the pace at the top of the league. In last season's encounters we drew 1 – 1 at the Lamb, but lost 4 – 0 in the return fixture. However, the Lambs are a changed team since then, and with the players starting to gel, we are hopeful of a good result. Manager Andy Peaks is looking forward to the game, “It will be a good yardstick to where we are, but it will be nice to go into the game with the confidence of two wins under our belts and remaining unbeaten.”
