Hart and Cockerill-Mollett Earn Deals for the New Season

Two More Sign On

Two players who have impressed manager Andy Peaks during pre-season earn deals for the new campaign.

Callum Cockerill Mollett, signed for the Lambs in October last year. He found game time limited with Henri WIlder in good form and then a long term injury meant that Andy Peaks was unable to see him play until pre-season. However, he has made the most of his opportunities to display his versatility on the left flank either at full back or winger.

After progressing through the youth system at Walsall, Callum signed a professional contract with the Sadlers in the summer of 2016 and a successful Development Squad season was rewarded with call ups to the Republic of Ireland U18 in 2017. He spent time on loan at Telford and Chasetown and he made 21 appearances for Walsall in League 2, before he was released by The Saddlers and signed by The Lambs. Callum has made 7 appearances for the club so far.

Ben Hart joined the Lambs permanently in July last year from Burton Albion after impressing in 2 loan spells from the Football League outfit. However, he became the unluckiest player in the squad for repeated injuries culminating with a broken leg which put an end to his season. He has worked considerably hard to get his fitness back and has displayed the qualities that made him a key signing last year. Ben is a versatile player who can play at right back, centre half and in front of the back 4. In his Lambs career to date Ben has played 18 games without scoring.

Speaking about the signings of Callum and Ben, Manager Andy Peaks said, “I have seen more than enough in the last few weeks that they are the sort of players I want around the football club - they have got something to give. “They both offer something different and are both really good characters in the dressing room and I know they will put their bodies on the line for the club. “I know that people have had a taste of Ben Hart and think a lot of him, and Callum offers us balance on the left hand side of the pitch. Callum was with Walsalll and played in the league so he has a lot of pedigree behind him.”

Great to have you both back on board Ben and Callum!
