Tamworth head to Champions elect Banbury United on Saturday where the Puritans need just one point to be crowned Champions. While all eyes will be on the hosts, for the Lambs they are keen to see their unbeaten run extended to 9 games and continue a run of results that has seen them leap from rock bottom of the form table to 3rd over the past 8 games. In that period they have picked up 14 points, scoring 20 goals while conceding 10. It is a massive turnaround for the management team lead by Andy Peaks, especially as in the previous 8 league games the Lambs had only scored twice and conceded 18 times.

The Puritans will deservedly be crowned Champions if they pick up a point in the clash on Saturday. Many people have commented that they have been the best team to visit the Lamb this season when they won 4 - 0 on 16 Nov. Games between the two sides have always been well contested and with 34 games played between the sides, Tamworth have the upper hand with 15 wins. The Puritans have won 12, while 7 games have been drawn.

Tamworth head into the game on the back of a 5 - 2 win over Needham Market last Saturday in front of the highest attendance in the league on the day. Although Manager Andy Peaks was pleased with the win, he saw there is still plenty of room for improvement; “We weren't great defensively, but from the fans perspective it was an entertaining game of football. “There are various areas that still need to be tweaked, but the main thing is that we wanted the players to buy into what we wanted - working hard, being organised and putting in a shift for the club, and I can’t question that. “Whether we are good enough in certain areas, we are finding more out every week and it is nice to find these things out while we are picking up points.”
