20220324 - Lambs Welcome Needham Market on Non League Day

Tamworth v Needham Market, Saturday 26 March, KO 3.00pm

Pitching In Southern League Premier Central

It is the annual Non League Day on Saturday, a time when supporters of Premier and EFL Teams who do not have a game, are welcomed to sample the world of Non League Football.

We are delighted to be at home and invite supporters of our local Premiership and Champioinship clubs to come and enjoy a day out at the Lamb, to enjoy watching a rejuvinated Tamworth side under the management of Andy Peaks. Since taking over he has seen his team go on a 6 games unbeaten run, making it 7 in total for the Tamworth team. He shared a few thoughts about his slection policy moving into the final stages of the season; “I am not one for making changes for the sake of making changes, but the players who have been on the bench or coming back from injury will get their opportunities. “When we get to that point where I know we are definitely safe, then I will have a look at more options so that I can make decisions for next season. “I am a great believer in that if it is not broken don’t try to mend it! “We have made good progress in the last 4 or 5 weeks and I want it to continue.”

Needham Market have enjoyed considerable success in the FA Trophy this season, reaching the quarter finals ,only to be knocked out by Stockport County. However, they suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Biggleswade Town on Tuesday evening and will be looking to bounce back to winning ways on Saturday.

On Saturdy we will be celebrating the return of the printed match day programme. Covid meant that we had to move our programme on line, but following requests from supporters we are now delighted to reintroduce an important feature of the match day experience. Priced at just £2, the excellent read will sell for 50p cheaper than the last time we sold programmes at games and we are certain supporters will be pleased with the production. Henri Wilder features on the first printed edition of our programme (see below) - make sure you pick up your copy at the game on Saturday.
