Lambs Media caught up with Tom Baillie ahead of the game against Leamington to chat about the progress on reshaping the squad, not just for the rest of this season but for the longer-term development of the club.
“It has been a busy week so far and it is only Tuesday! Gaz and I have looked at where we need to develop the squad and the first thing we need are leaders – not just on the pitch, but off the pitch as well. “We are going through a difficult patch, and we want to thank our supporters for their patience as we try and deal with this awful injury and covid crisis that we have been going through. “It has not helped that we have only been able to put the same 11 players out on the pitch twice this season and that was the FA Cup game against Notts County.”
“Dan Bradley brings a lot of quality and experience to the club. “He has played at the highest levels of Non-league football and everyone knows what he can do.. “He is a senior player who will run that extra mile for us, so we are looking forward to getting him out on the pitch. “We did try to sign him in the summer but are glad that we have finally got him.”
“James Hurst is another leader. "He is a talented player that Buxton didn’t want to lose, however, his situation meant that he needed to leave for a club closer to home and we are delighted that we have him on board. “James is another leader and will give everything for the club. “He can play in 3 or 4 positions comfortably and has a winning attitude - something that we need.”
On Taylor Morrison Tom said that the club have got a ‘talented, quick and strong player’. “I had Taylor at Stratford and I know what he is all about” He is a good player who can play in several positions. “Taylor is young enough to progress and we are pleased to have him.”
Tom also confirmed that the club are in the hunt for another striker and Gary and he are currently talking to two players that will add quality to the team. Further news on this will be made available later in the week.
