Coalville Town v Tamworth, Saturday 15 January, KO 3.00pm
Pitching In Southern League Premier Central
The Lambs travel to Leicestershire on Saturday to face Coalville Town in the knowledge that performances are improving, despite going down to Peterborough Sports at the CR MOT Centre Community Stadium at the Lamb on Tuesday evening, At times the Lambs were the better side, building on the performance against Royston Town, but the run of the ball didn’t favour them and the Turbines ran out as winners.
It’s another tough task on Saturday as Coalville are flying high in the league. The Lambs hosted the Ravens in our first home game of the season. Fans will recall Jack Concannon’s spectacular first half strike in an entertaining 1 - 1 draw. SInce then, fortunes have been different for the clubs with Coalville firmly in contention for league honours. The last time we travelled to Coalville 2 years ago, the game was called off because the officials broke down on route to the ground! A familiar face in the hosts line up will be Tyrell Waite who recently moved to the Ravens from Tamworth.
For Tamworth, players are returning from injury and Covid, but on Tuesday evening the pandemic ensured that Bilal Yafai and Ahmed Obeng had to remain in isolation. Alex Jones is still suffering from an ankle injury and will face a late fitness test. Gary and Tom are in negotiations with players about joining the club and it may be that a couple of new faces will be in the lineup if they are the right fit for the team.
