20210818 - Trawler Boys Sail in on Saturday

Tamworth v Lowestoft Town - Saturday 21 August (KO 3.00pm)

We welcome Lowestoft Town on Saturday, who make the long journey from Suffolk to the CR MOT Community Stadium at the Lamb. For Tamworth it is a chance to build on the much improved performance against Coalville on Tuesday evening, while The Trawler Boys are looking for their first points of the campaign.

Following the game on Tuesday evening Joint Manager Gary Smith could not hide his pride at the way Tamworth responded to the poor performance at Royston, "To say I’m proud is an understatement, I’m proud of every single player for their effort, desire, character and spirit to come back from the one goal deficit. To score an equaliser the way we did, what a fantastic strike from Jack Concannon".Although Coalville had the better of the first 20 mins, it was Tamworth who held the upper hand for the rest of the game with Jack Concannon scoring a stunning 25 yards strike. Lucas Yeomans showed that he is ready for this standard of football with a confident and assured performance at right back, having only come into the side at the last minute after Chris Cox had to pull out with an injury in the warm up.

The Lambs and Trawler Boys have played each other 9 times in competitive fixtures with Tamworth winning 5 times. The last time the teams met was on 30 Nov 2019 and Tqmworth ran out 4 - 1 winners with goals from Ryan Beswick (2), Tyrelle Waite and Rhys Hoenes.

Tickets for the game, which is our preferred method of entry to the ground, can be purchased here and food and drink facilities in the ground provide the option of cashless methods of payment too. Entrance to the car park is a cash payment of £2.

Matchday programmes are available free of charge to download when published here
