Tamworth Football Club partnership with Derby County

Tamworth Football Club are delighted to announce a new partnership with Derby County.

Derby County will now be the hosts to a brand new midland development centre based here at the home of Tamworth Football Club.

The partnership discussions start back in April between senior members of staff at Derby County and Scott Rickards our new Academy Manager. The agreement will start with the implemetation of the development centre offering local talent the opportunitiy to be selected to join the centre and gain professional coaching from their staff providing a potential pathway into shadow squads and the full academy.

Along with this Derby County have also agreed to support our Tamworth FC First Team squad with potential loans for the up and coming season if required.

Scott Rickards said "It's a fantastic move for our club and will only help us in building for the future. Implementing a partnership with a championship club as big as Derby County shows we are now moving in the right direction as a club, whilst offering our local players a place to gain additional professional coaching should they be selected. Derby County have kindly offered to help support the development of our current academy staff in CPD events and coaching courses which is massive for us as an acdemy. We have also been taking part in Derby County's summer tournaments across numerous age groups over the past two month which is a result of being involved with the club which our players have thoroughly enjoyed."

The centre will be running throughout August and officialy go live in September on a Friday evening.
