Match Report

After the 2-1 away win at Sheepy Road, Tamworth took on the Moors at The Lamb in the first home friendly of 2018-19.

The visitors started brightly and kept up the pressure during the opening 10 minutes with Singh forced into a point blank save.
The Lambs soaked up the pressure and exerted some of their own before the game evened out somewhat but still retained the quick pace.
On 25 Moors took the lead with a tidy dinked finish from Wright who ran through onto a ball from Carter against Singh and finished from inside the edge of the box (0-1, 25 mins)
Seven minutes later Thomas beat Upton to the ball, advanced on Singh’s goal and slotted it home to double the lead (0-2, 32 mins)
Storer smashed a shot at Singh on 40 which the keeper batted away and at the other end a Walters freekick was struck low and went through to Boot.

HT: TAMWORTH 0 2 SOLIHULL MOORS

Tamworth made one change and Solihull restarted proceedings with Walters cutting into the box and firing just over the far angle of bar and post.
A long range shot from Hylton forced Singh to punch the ball clear and a header from Williams on 55 saw the ball whizz past the far post.
On 59 Osborne robbed Upton on the edge of the area and despite the close attention from the defender the Moors player managed to squeeze it past Singh inside the far post (0-3, 59 mins)
After the usual pre-season flurry of substitutions Singh was tested by a long range effort from Moors number 12 in the final action before the full time shistle blew.
