Match Report

Asante opened the scoring on 3 after a great ball through to Morris, and a measured knock back to the striker to finish into the bottom right corner from the edge of the area.(1-0, 3 mins)
A snap shot from Akwasi on 9 was simple enough for Williams to smother but his effort from 25 yards wasn’t hit exactly as he would have hoped from that distance out.
Former Lamb Davies curled a shot at Singh on 13 but his goalbound effort was pushed around the post for a corner in the first action for the Lambs keeper.
A long low shot from another former Lambs Curley forced Singh into a regulation save on 18. Waite hit the back of the net for the fifth friendly in a row on 23 when the ball came in, popped up off a defender and the striker volleyed it home from 6 yards out (2-0, 23 mins)
Singh made a powerful block of Nelson’s shot from close range on 32 after good work from Davies to set him up.
A threaded ball from Shaw found Waite on 38 but his shot was deflected away by Williams and in the final few minutes The Pitmen started to look for a way back in, but the whistle blew.

The home side restarted the game and on 50 a ball over the shoulder of Asante from Wright allowed the striker to advance towards the box but he was tripped on the way and Waite stepped up to take the freekick which whistled a few millimetres past the far post.
On 56 Wallis tangled with Hollis in the area for a penalty to Hednesford which Davies struck low into the bottom right past Singh (2-1, 56 mins)
Nelson looked up and lobbed Singh on 59 and the keeper was happy to leave it, but it struck his post behind him and rebounded out to be able to be cleared.
But four minutes later Hollis made a strong run down the Pitmen right into the box and drilled it low for Cockerline to finish from six yards out (2-2, 60 mins)
Cockerline struck from 20 yards on 69 and Sign pushed it one his post and it came back off him and out for a corner.
Waite raced through from the halfway line and looked for his hattrick as he went one on one with Williams but dragged his shot wide of the mark.
From then on the changes on both sides disrupted the game somewhat but both sides still looked to add to the scoreline, but struggled somewhat to test either keeper.
