Avenue in town on Saturday 07/03/2015

Tamworth, currently third in the Vanarama Conference North welcome 19th placed Bradford Park Avenue to The Lamb for the first ever time on Saturday afternoon.

It comes on the back of a six point haul from the last four games including two points against the top two sides in the league in Barrow and Fylde and one from the home of one of this season's FA Trophy Finalists, North Ferriby.
The last home game saw The Lambs comeback three times to defeat Oxford City 4-3 and while we don't particularly want to go through that every week you can't argue that it was a great game to watch as the 1000+ fans that enjoyed the afternoon's entertainment will no doubt agree.

Kick off is 3pm and we look forward to seeing you there cheering on Andy Morrell's squad as they look for strengthen their claim for a play off place.

Six Pointer Saturday 26/02/2015

On Saturday the Lambs travel up what we hope will be a trouble free M6 motorway to play AFC Fylde who until recently have been sitting in top place but after a couple of shock results they now ently lie in second place. With Brendon Daniels starting the first of a two match ban there will at least one change to the sixteen players selected for the game. With injuries still ruling out Paul Green, Dan Preston and Rob Purdie the call will no doubt be for Manager Andy Morrell to name himself on the bench or can he surprise us all and lead from the front.

Four separate goalscorers hit the back of the net for The Lambs on Saturday as returning striker Leon Mettam netted the winner in a thrilling 4-3 Vanarama Conference North victory over Oxford City.

Next up is a trip to AFC Fylde where Morrell will be without Brendon Daniels (first of two match suspension).

Sides meet again as fans remember 89 13/02/2015

Tamworth travel to North Ferriby's Church Lane ground on Saturday for the first competitive fixture between the two sides since the memorable FA Vase Semi Finals of 1988-89.
Andy Morrell's Lambs are currently 3rd and pushing towards a high finish in the Vanarama Conference North while North Ferriby have got their sights on a Wembley trip for the 2014-15 FA Trophy Final, having secured a place in this season's Semi Finals which take place a week on Saturday and seven days after that - so a good game is envisaged between the two teams.

The Supporters Club are running a coach to the game, departing The Lamb at 11am.

Parents Thanks for Community Soccer School 26/02/2015

After the last Community Soccer School we received the e-mail below which the writer has kindly allowed us to display on the website. We hope to run another Community Soccer School at Easter so watch this site for further details.

Just a quick message to say thank you to everybody for their time and effort involved in the 2 soccer schools this week. My son Jack Taft really enjoyed his time with Raj and was so happy with his football he won making new friends and playing amongst Tamworth players and management. Looking at the children's faces on leaving I'm sure everyone felt the same. Hopefully there'll be more of these great days in the future. Thank you to everybody Andrew James

February 2015 Half Term Fun Days 29/01/2015

Exciting news as high flying Tamworth Football Club are set to run football fun days this February half term on Tuesday 17th and Thursday 19th. These action packed days will take place at The Tamworth FC stadium on the same pitch which has seen Andy Morrells team win 12 games in a row. The days will be run by Assistant Manager Mike Fowler owner of South Wales Elite Soccer and will be helped by a host of stars from the first team squad and even an appearance from Andy Morrell himself during the day. Andy is looking forward to seeing as many local youngsters aged between 7-14 at the lamb as possible. As stated in the Tamworth Herald last week Andy is keen to re-establish a Tamworth Academy and this could be your chance to impress!

The day will run from 10am until 3pm and we will stop at 12:30 for lunch (not provided). The children will be grouped into age categories and will get an opportunity to participate in several fun football activities throughout the day. Popular games like skills school, crossbar challenge, penalty shoot outs and our very own Tamworth FC World Cup to finish the day are already on the itinerary. First team star Raaj Gill will be on hand to work with any budding goalkeepers. There will be a certificate for each participant and prizes for the Player of the day in each category. There will also be lots of opportunities for photos and autographs in a very relaxed, safe and friendly environment where the ethos will be friendship and participation focussed. The cost of the fun days will be £10 per day and will be on a first come first serve basis, as spaces will be limited and will sell out fast. Avoid disappointment and book now so your child/children does/do not miss out. Email us at Community@thelambs.co.uk Please also look out for, in the coming weeks, news about Tamworth FCs community and school football projects. Mike Fowler Tamworth FC
